This site was created and is maintained by Siobhán McElduff, Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia. It’s an offshoot of a book I am writing on classics and the labouring classes in the 18th and 19th centuries. (Some of that material may eventually end up on here.) That work was supported by SSHRC and by a short term Mellon Fellowship at the Huntington Library where I found the catalogues and keyed in some of the data.
I’m a member of a group of faculty from Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia interested in digital humanities. That group can be found at the Digital Salon. I also have a site dedicated to gladiators and Roman spectacles, a subject I teach most years.
